The result of (3.8621 × 1.5630) – 5.98 is properly written as ?

My answer was: 0.0564623 My tutor agreed I was right to place my answer as 0.056, he's a chem wiz. but my instructor says its: 0.06The question read exactly as above. Any feedback please?

(3.8621 *1.5630) -5.98 = (6.0365) -5.98= 0.0565= 0.06Now stage 1 is yo multiply inside parentheses, so you keep the number of sig figs as the least sig figs in one of the multiplicands. That is both have 5 sig figs so we take our answer as 5 sug fugs. Next stage 2 comes and that is to subtract. Look, the subtrahend has three sig figs, and two sig figs after the decimal place, meaning thr meadurement was only precise to the hundreths place. Erstwhile the minuend has precision to thr ten thousandths place. Ergo the result of subtraction can only be guaranteed to br correct to the hunredthds place. Since thr nunber in the thousandths place is 6, and 6>5, round up and record tje answe as above.
