It depends on the size of the dog as to what the harm will be. A chihuahua eating a whole honey bun might require hospitalization vs. a Dane showing no impact. The dog is at his mercy when it comes to eating things. Of course the dog will eat just about anything given to him and children don't understand how they can hurt the animal.
