I make homemade music videos and put them on youtube. So far, 3 have succesfully downloaded and can be viewed, but my latest one won't let people see it. I signed out and tried to figure out what happened and this message was on my Youtube screen. -This video contains content from UMG, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.- What does this mean, why won't it let people see my video, and how come it didn't happen to any of the other music videos i have made? Thanks for any help.

Universal (UMG) is one of the companies which is very aggressive in fighting piracy. They move quickly (using tracking software) to identify copyright infringement. not all music companies are as quick. Your other videos will probably be taken down, but it might take longer.Meanwhile, you should stop posting copyright material. Your BEST outcome will be losing your YouTube account. The worst is being sued.

Why is everyone commenting so incredibly stupid? Read the damn post.. he said "homemade music videos".. never was it mentioned that the music was from someone else... So as for the UMG issue, I'm having the issue on a handful of videos that I've been watching a long time and now they're blocked.. not sure how to get around it or why its happening, especially since it was posted by the people that created it.

You may have been lucky on the first 3. You could still be sued later for copyright infringement. You are getting into dangerous territory.

You were lucky on the others.UMG obviously keeps an eye of sites where their material may be used illegally. They can sue you.If it's not your own song, it it someone else's and you need to ask permission to use it.

you know, you cant use ANY pics ANYWERE, if you dont have premission from them, cant even use google cuz that are pics other ppl took :P, easy anwser, only use things that are yours to start with, or you asked them if you can use it.
