Three friends went to a hotel. The bill was Rs 75/- Each one contributed Rs.25/-. The waiter took the bill?
Three friends went to a hotel, and the bill was Rs. 75. Each of them contributed Rs. 25, totaling Rs. 75. The waiter took the bill to the cashier. The cashier, feeling generous, decided to give them a discount of Rs. 5 and asked the waiter to return Rs. 5 to the friends.
The waiter, however, was confused about how to divide Rs. 5 among the three friends. To resolve this, he decided to keep Rs. 2 for himself and returned Rs. 1 to each of the three friends.
Now, since each friend received Rs. 1 back, their individual contributions effectively reduced to Rs. 24 each. In total, they contributed Rs. 24 × 3 = Rs. 72. Adding the Rs. 2 that the waiter kept in his pocket brings the total to Rs. 74.
But they had originally paid Rs. 75. So, where is the missing Rs. 1?

Assume it to be this way…the cashier gave Rs2 to the waiter and divided the remaining Rs73 among the 3 friends, getting back Rs1 which he tosses and which suddenly dissappears…Tada…!!
Ok….actually…..the question is sort of wrong… due to the discount their contribution reduces to 70/3 but due to the waiter it increases to (70+3)/3 …thus the rupee is with them…….
This is what shouldn’t happen…Paison ka Golmal!!Imagine it happening in real life and the 3 dudes question the waiter..it would take hours to sort it out!!! Thats why……always tip the waiter!!!
the total bill was Rs. 75 and the discount given was Rs. 5 so the actual bill amount is Rs. 70 now. If we divide the amount evenly among three it will be 70/3=23.3333
Now the waiter keeps Rs. 2 and the remaining Rs. 3 distributes between the three so, individually they get Rs. 1
so the total share of each individual will be 23.3333 + 1 = 24.3333
And 24.3333*3=72.9999 or 73. Therefore, 73+2=75

Ahhh, I love a good brain teaser, but I think I have this one figured out. The friends paid a total of $72 dollars because 24 x 3 is $72. Minus the 2 dollars that the waiter has in his pocket, and you are left with the $70 paid on the bill.
It is the way you look at it If cashier took only 70 and returned 5 back, so each contributed= 70/3=23.33 returned 5 and waiter took 2, so each got back 1, so now there contribution= 24.33 So the total= 24.33*3= 73 + 2 (waiter)= 75
Well you have to look at the entire picture.
The tab after the discount was 70, therefore 70 divided by 3 is 23.33
therefore the waited had 2 bucks in his pocket and he gave three bucks back to the lads,
thereby the buck was already divided between the three.
23.33 * 3 = 70 + 2 + 3 = 70

I suppose that would depend upon the exchange rate and the currency being exchanged. Also, is there a commission on the exchange? What kind of hotel was this? Were there elevators, and if so, were they operational? Was there room service? The final factor is the tax rate. Inflation might factor into the answer also. The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.

75 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 2 = 70
Then you pay 70 then correct, they go and do whatever things in the hotel they want. who cares about Rs1. maybe its robbed?
