Urgent! my dog got bit by a wolf spider, what do i do?
Title: "Urgent! My dog was bitten by a wolf spider—what should I do?"
Body: "I’m certain it was a wolf spider that bit my dog. He was bitten on his paw, and now he’s jerking that paw around—I’m not sure if it’s spasms or something else. He won’t let us touch the area, and he’s acting unusually. He’s a smaller dog but fully grown. What steps should I take to help him? Is this an emergency?"

Wolf spider venom is not lethal. I would not be to worried about it unless it swells or gets infected.
If he is under 20 pounds it might be a good idea to call your vet for advise.

I definitely know it was a wolf spider. He was bit on his paw, and he’s starting to jerk that paw around, I’m not sure if is spasms or not. He won’t let us touch it and he’s acting abnormal. He’s a smaller dog, and full grown. What should I do?!
If you’re sure it was a wolf spider, the dog should be fine. Wolf spider venom is not particularly toxic. It is painful though, so his paw is probably just bothering him.
Unless the wolf spider is from S. America you are fine. May cause some swelling and itching, but no need for a Vet unless it gets much worse. Of course you could always CALL your Vet. ?
Just get him to the vet, and don’t bother messing around with reading stuff online.
ANY dog, or even human, can have an allergic reaction that has nothing to do with whether the venom is lethal or not – so you still need to hustle and get this dog in, or his breathing could be affected quickly. PLEASE – just go.

Consult with your vet. You may, or may not need to go in. Perhaps he can give you some treatment advice, if you don’t need to go in. Do NOT give any human medications to your dog without prior vet approval to do so. Many human pain & ant-inflammatory meds are toxic, in dogs.

Wolf spiders aren’t lethal to many but he sounds like he is having an allergic reaction to it. Please bring him to the vets
