The answer is two, haploid. Meiosis is a cell division which results in the reduction of chromosome number by half - from diploid to haploid - in daughter cells. It consists of meiosis I and meiosis II. Meiosis I produces two haploid cells. Meiosis II is analogous to mitosis, so each of these two haploid cells will in meiosis II produce two haploid cells. In total, meiosis results in four haploid cells.

Meiosis i produces two cells, each of which is haploid.  Explanation: Meiosis is the process of dividing cells specialized in reproduction: gametes. These cells are involved in sexual reproduction, each of which, produced by individuals of different sexes, carries in its genetic material the information of the father or mother for the union with the gamete of the opposite sex and formation of the egg cell. This union, called fertilization, is responsible for the formation of the genetic heritage of the individual generated.Meiosis can be divided into meiosis I and meiosis II.Meiosis I produces two cells, each of which is haploid.

I believe the term you are looking for is "haploid," meaning that they have half the number of chromosomes as a regular somatic cell.Hope that helped you!

Meiosis i produces two cells, each of which is haploid.  In humans, the haploid cells made in meiosis are sperm and eggs. When a sperm and an egg join in fertilization, the two haploid sets of chromosomes form a complete diploid set: a new genome.
