Might be a possible Signs of alien activity on KIC 8462852? What do you guys think?
Could the unusual behavior of the star KIC 8462852 be a potential sign of alien activity? Here’s an article discussing the mysterious dimming patterns observed in this star: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/the-weird…. What are your thoughts on this phenomenon?

A POSSIBLE sign, but highly unlikely. When a star gets dimmer, it’s one sign that it’s nearing the end of its life. Meaning its used up too much helium, it cools down and gets dimmer, and the implosion reignites the nuclear fire to get it started again.
As well as I looked at the line “don’t think it’s very likely that there is an alien civilization building planet-size structures around one of their stars”, stars are much bigger than planets so I’m question the credentials of those “scientists”.
Nothing like that near Tabetha’s (WTF) star. it is a local phenomenon & as usual these Alien folks jump at it.

Nobody really said it was signs of Alien activity… only that a “Dyson Sphere” is one of among many very improbable possibilities. And even that had to modified to a “Dyson Swarm,” because such an object would break up if solid.

Bolox. Anyone who attributes anything to alien activity needs to be slapped across the face until they gain some rationality.
There is NOTHING that is evidence of the existence of life anywhere else.
“Most scientists, including Wright and Boyajian, don’t think it’s very likely that there is an alien civilization building planet-size structures around one of their stars.”
But the media just wants to bury this information in the article since they know people are only going to read the headlines and maybe the first couple paragraphs.
Remember: Scientists are the ones studying the stars. I tend to believe them more than I do the media, who’s job it is to sell their media and ad spaces.
