Monkey Hips Recipe?

My dad told me the other night he was making monkey hips and rice for dinner...and when I questioned the monkey hips...he just kept repeating he was having monkey hips...can anyone enlighten me on what monkey hips are or share a recipe of an example of monkey hips so I can understand this better...I just cannot see someone eatting the hip of a monkey...

Monkey Hips and Rice refers to a 1950's song and album by the musical group the 5 Rorals from Winston-Salem NC. A local restaurant/Coffee House in Chattanooga TN called the Mu'd Pie used to serve a tasty dish called Monkey Hips, probably in reference to the Riyals song/album, made of rice, beans, some cheeses, salsa, hot sause, and small pieces of cнιcκen. No no no... not hips, LIPS! Monkey lips. Monkey lips are absolutely delicious lightly seasoned and deep fried, a little hot sauce and your good to go. But hips? Monkey hips? Who the heck would eat monkey hips? Ewww.... Show More
