Has my mom become a hoe?Hello I am a 16 year old high school sophmore. 5 years ago i came to US from Russia. My mom is 40. For her age she looks very good. All of my guy friends are sorta in love with her and talk about her all the time. Well my mom likes to go out and spend time with men. She also uses myspace and facebook. One of my friends recently also found her ad on craiglist with revealing pictures of herself. She says in the add she likes to have sex with black and hispanic guys and will do it for free. I am so shocked by this. Now all of my friends know about this and discuss her among each other. What can I do? can she get in trouble for posting things like that on craiglist? She comes late from work everyday after her shift. I wanted to meet her one day after work where she worked, but she entered a suv with 3 smiling young guys and they drove off. When i asked her, she said she had to go shopping.one of my friends asked her if he could tap her ***, and she said no come back when ur 18i couldnt believe it, how could a mom say that, im so emnarassedi told her its not good what shes doing, she said to mind my businessshe said she likes it if all my guy friends like her, she said shes proud to have an *** a young man would like

I'm sorry to say that it does sound like your mother is some kind of sex worker - but she doesn't get paid or ask for money in return for sex, so this would be what is known as a 'ho', 'slut' etc. It also seems like the main source for her self-esteem is her body because of the sexual attraction it creates for men, so perhaps if she was not able to attract men then her self-esteem and self-confidence would crumble. I don't believe you want her to have no self-esteem or anything, but still her self-esteem is fragile because she knows that her appearance will decline with time. So if you interfere with her too much, you may be the one to take away the basis of her self-esteem. Well, at least she follows the law in that she doesn't ask for money and refuses minors. Other than applying for legal emancipation from your mother, I don't know if there is much you can do to stop her. If you did get emancipated you would have to take care of yourself financially, as well as live by yourself... Obviously you can try to talk to her calmly and honestly about the effects that her behavior has on you and your social connections as well as your own self-esteem, but seeing as she is proud of her body I don't know if she will take you very seriously. So you might just have to wait two years until you are no longer a minor and then move out.
