what do plants give off during the day and night?
What gases do plants release during the day and night? This question is part of my biology homework and focuses on the oxygen-carbon dioxide cycle. Can someone explain how plants contribute to this cycle during different times of the day?

In general, during the day, plants mainly photosynthesize, giving off oxygen. At night, they mainly respire, giving off carbon dioxide.

One would probably say day. It is because of the reaction of photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 12H2O –> C6H12O6 + 6H2O + O2 which can take place only during the day, in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll. During the night, plants take in oxygen for respiration and release carbon dioxide through the stomata. So that’s the answer: during the DAY. Hope you got the answer. Only exception: peepal tree releases oxygen all the time. Can you guess y?
