what does “less shipping and handling” mean?
I am looking to order something online, and the money-back guarantee states that you can return the item for a refund, “less shipping and handling.” What does this mean?

It means that they will refund the cost of the item purchased, but not the costs associated with shipping and handling. ie. if you paid $25.94 ($19.99 for the item and $5.95 for the shipping and handling), if you return the item, you will only get a refund of $19.99.

It means they will refund you the price of the item but they wont refund the cost of the shipping and handling. You will also have to pay to ship it back. So you may lose a bit of money compared to the refund of the item.
