What does ratchet mean, some people in my school are calling girls ratchet?
Some people at my high school have been calling certain girls "ratchet," but they haven’t called me that—at least not yet. I’m curious, is "ratchet" meant to be a compliment or an insult? What does it actually mean in this context?

It means a person who is nasty, ghetto, and a slut. It’s a pretty bad word or it can mean a device consisting of a bar or wheel with a set of angled teeth in which a pawl, cog, or tooth engages, allowing motion in one direction only. ?

Well let s think about it people use it in comedy mostly but sometimes it can be used for cussing and those things but kids take it as not a swear word but they do it a lot but even if you take as a joke, because ratchet means someone unworthy and it s when some one is like a gold digger so it s kind of a ghetto word that is a cuss in real life but in comedy it s just to be funny!
A madam of the nasty ghetto species, dressed in an ensemble of cheetah print leggings and a leotard, not to mention the thong 4 sizes too small beneath these items. On top of her head is generally perched a purple weave, often resembling shredded plastic. A lady of this sort may be caught sipping a beverage called Baby Drank, or 4loko mixed with rufies……… AKA Baby Drank. Ratchets are most commonly known for their slurring of words due to the Baby Drank. Most Ratches are commonly found dancing sloppily on poles, most commonly knocking them over due to their immense weight. A Ratchet is also commonly found on the arm of a big black man smoking a cheap cigar.
It’s a girl that is Nasty looking with maybe nasty nappy hair or with fake hair or is like a hoe or a fake ***** in other words something you don’t wanna say around adults. Example: She ratchet

In actuality, a ratchet is a type of wrench that (according to where you have the switch at) can either tighten or loosen mechanical parts.
