What does "SIT.NOMEN.DOMINI.V.BENEDICTVM 1648" mean? I found this inscription stamped on a silver dish that I own, and I would like to understand its significance and historical context.

Where do you live? If anywhere near a major city, call up the reputable museums and ask. You have a very rare piece of silver and it should be appraised and insured. If what I found is what you have, you need to do this right away. If you have to call Christies in New York, I would do it.
