The N-Judah MUNI Metro (light rail) line runs parallel to Golden Gate Park. If you're heading for the museums, get off at the "Judah and 9th Avenue" stop. The 9th Avenue entrance is closest to the park's cultural precinct. MUNI shares the four subway stations in Downtown San Francisco (Civic Center, Powell Street, Montgomery Street, and Embarcadero) with BART, so it is an easy transfer from any of those stations.Don't even bother to go upto street level. BART only runs through downtown, the Mission district and south to Daly City. There are no branch lines that go near GG Park.
