to double a number means to add it to itself
2/3 + 2/3 = 4/3 which reduces to 1 1/3
well, if you are looking to double it in the way you mean adding it to itself;
then 2/3 + 2/3 = 1 and 1/3 (1 1/3) all you do, is you multiply the numerator (top number) times 2 if you are doubling. and you keep the denominator the same.
Hope I helped! ?
