Standard FM just gives you the frequency ie 97.1. RDS, meaning Radio Data System, shows you the actual station name, such as Metro, or BBC Radio 1.... Show More

As the first answer said, ‘NEWS’ means you can pick up frequencies of news only radio stations. TP is ‘Traffic Programme’. When this is enabled it increases the volume of the radio when the traffic announcments come on on the station you are listening to.... Show More
