You first need to find out the weight of one mole of C8H18. Go to the periodic table to get the weights of all the elements in your compound then add them.

C = 12 grams x 8 = 96 grams

H = 1 gram x 18 = 18 grams

Total = 96 + 18 = 114 grams in one mole.

If you have 5.9 moles, multiply this by the weight of one mole (114 grams) = 672.6 rounded to 673 grams in 5.9 moles.

Your answer is D.

I hope this answer will help you.

number of moles= 5.90 mol

molar mass of C8H18 = 12(8) + 1(18)

                                   = 96 + 18                                   = 114g/mol

If number of moles = Mass / Molar mass

Therefore mass= number of moles x molar mass

                           5.90mol x 114g.mol                          = 672.6g which is approximately 673        Therefore the answer is D

Use the equation mass=no. of moles X Relative formula mass C8H18 = (8x12)+(1x18)=114 (so thats the Relative formula mass) no. of moles = 5.ninety so mass = 5.ninety x 114 =672.6g which may be rounded to 673g do its D

D

(128+118)*5.9=672.6=673

(molar mass of c8h18)*no of moles

1 mol of c8h18 weighs 114g

therefore 5.90 moles of c8h18 weighs xg

x=(114*5.90)/1

therefore x=672.6g~673g

the answer is D

hope this helped!!!

I wonder if we are all doing the same school. Where do you guys go?
