If you meant to type in "amateur" it means you’re new at it, and you are not a pro, so you don’t get paid.
Dictionary def: a person who enɡɑɡes in a pursuit, esp. a sport, on an unpaid basis.
An armature photographer (not to be confused with "amateur" photographer) is one who takes advantage of the so-called photographic armatures. The best known of these is the Rule of Thirds, whereby we are taught to place important elements at or near the points where lines dividing the image into thirds vertically and horizontally would intersect. Following this rule alone, however, does not make one an armature photographer. There are other important armatures which help the composition of the photo, such as the diagonals from corner to corner, the lines from halfway points on the vertical edges to the halfway points on the horizontal, lines from the halfway point to the corners, and the lines from the one-third points to the other one-third points, the corners, or the halfway points. Composing or cropping so as to align important elements with these armatures is what makes one an "armature photographer."
This is assuming that your source was NOT making a typo, as is also possible.

Armature (computer animation), the kinematic chains used in computer animation to simulate the motions of virtual characters
Armature (sculpture), a framework around which a sculpture is built
Armature (electrical engineering), one of the two principal electrical components of an electromechanical machine
my guess is animation
or amateur – ie, not professional

It’s either a photographer that specialises in frameworks (armatures) or a photographer who does not make photography his profession (if you meant AMATEUR photographer) … a hobbyist.
The correct answer is a photographer who works in frameworks, as explained far better by someone above.
The word "amateur" simply means that you don’t get paid. It is usually associated with someone with little or no experience but really has nothing to do with that. I know photographers that have been shooting for years that are amateurs.
By the same token, I also know a number of "pros" (people who get paid). Some of these photogs are horrible.
One who indulges in Photography just as a Hobby and makes no earning out of it.
