overjoyed, elated, ecstatic. of course, none actually fit your sentence, which is why people say it the way that they do. there isn’t a word to express happier than happy without going hyperbolic and being ecstatic, unfortunately. Are you embarrassed that you child might know that gay means something else too? Children have seen ambiguity in language before, it happens all the time. These all might help but of course none of them can fit in the sentence “I’m more than happy to help you.” That’s why people say ‘more than happy’, because though we all can find lots of synonyms for most words, almost none if not none mean exactly the same thing.
