What would happen if you got shot right on your belly button?

If someone were to be shot directly in the belly button with a gun, how would the effects compare to being shot in other parts of the body? Would it be considered more or less severe? I'm genuinely curious.

It would be bad. Your intestines are in your belly and there are many bad germs in your intestines that can lead to a horrible infection. The surgeons can probably fix wholes in you intestines and remove parts if they need to, but you can still die from the infection.

Even worse, your spinal cord is behind your intestines. You could have an infection and be paralyzed.

Even worse, your major blood supply runs down the center of you body before it splits down to both legs.

I guess the only plus side is that the belly button is already a scar?

I've several people shot in the abdomen, and it's not good wherever you get hit. There are several organs that could be hit by the lead. Solid organs are gonna bleed hollow organs will spill their contents. There is also something called cavitation, the tissues absorbing energy in areas surrounding the entry. The damage from this can be devistating. Now for the area you mentioned, there are 2 major vessels in the back of the abdomen and they can let you bleed to death rapidly. Then you have to worry about injury to the spine.

So you can see that that would not be a good place to be shot. I guess the best places to take hit in the torso would be in the low abdomen on the right or left side. Anywhere you get shot though, can cause mortal injury.

The bullet would pierce your stomach whether it was by your belly button or not. If you were shot into the heart you would probably die, into your stomach you may bleed to death if it hits a major blood vessel.

I'm not a doctor so I don't know. But I do know that if you got shot in your belly button I'd be willing to kiss it to make it feel better. I love kissing cute girl's bellybuttons.

it would be Worse than getting hit in the leg, because your gut is a vital organ, and if you got shot there, there is less skin there, so you would probrably bleed to death, and need a organ doner.

umm.. your belly button wuld hurt??

i dont think that it would be any worse.

there aren't any major organs (ie: heart, brain) to get hit, so it could actually be better in some cases. ;))
