what would the electron configuration for Cr3+ be?
I'm having trouble figuring out the electron configuration for Cr³⁺. I initially thought it would be [Ar] 4s¹, but that doesn't seem correct. I'm unsure how to proceed, as having only one electron in the d sublevel doesn't appear to provide a stable configuration. If two of the three missing electrons come from the 4s subshell and one from the 3d subshell, it still doesn’t seem stable. I understand that chromium is a transition metal, so its electron configuration might differ from what I expect. I would appreciate any guidance or clarification on this topic. Thank you for your help!

The electronic configuration of Cr(24) atom is 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s1 3d5( completely half-filled d-orbital ) and that of Cr3+ is [Ar] 3d3.
