What’s the difference between evolution and natural selection?

What is the difference between evolution and natural selection? Could you explain how these concepts relate to one another within the context of biological science? Additionally, I would appreciate an understanding of their significance in the development of species over time.

Evolution is a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form whereas natural selection is the process in nature by which, according to Darwin’s theory of evolution, only the organisms best adapted to their environment tend to survive and transmit their genetic characteristics in increasing numbers to succeeding generations while those less adapted tend to be eliminated.

Well actually, Evolution is the way in which complexity is added to life (amoeba to a dog). Natural selection is the idea (key word idea) that only those best suited to their environment will survive. This is to say, that if humans controlled every single part of nature on earth, natural selection would cease to exist but evolution would not.

Evolution is a slow, gradual process in which something changes into a more complex and usually better species due to the changing environment. Where as natural selection is da idea (Darwin) that due to changes in the environment, da best fit organisms able to adapt to these changes, are going to be the species that survive and thrive for generations to come.

Evolution is any change in gene frequencies over time. It does not necessarily result in”better” or “more complex” organisms. Evolution can result in speciation. Natural selection is a process by which some heritable trait confers benefits that result in those traits being represented more frequently in the population. Natural selection is one of many processes that can contribute to evolution.

Natural selection is one mechanism by which evolution occurs. There are other processes which contribute to evolution — natural selection is one of them.

Natural selection leads to evolution (evolution is the end product of natural selection). In other words, without natural selection, nothing would evolve.
