What’s the word for giving an inanimate object human-like qualities such as feelings?

What is the term for attributing human qualities, such as emotions or intentions, to inanimate objects? I believe it might be "personification," but I’m not entirely certain and would appreciate clarification.

I think it could be “personification” but I’m not sure enough to say it definitely is, hence the question.

It is most definitely personification, nothing else. I’ve had to read a novel every year in English class regarding personification, and I will tell you right now that you are correct with your own assumption.
