Why are pickles still put in glass jars instead of plastic jars??

they changed ketchup from glass to plastic over 20 years ago.

Pickles are vacuum packed. Can’t do that in a plastic jar.... Show More

Several manufacturing processes use live steam to pasteurize the product and/or displace the air in the pickle package. It’s possible to package in plastic, I’ve seen pickles in plastic pouches. I probably adds another step to the manufacturing process (such as irradiation to kill bacteria).... Show More
