why do i get chunky blood similar to blood clots instead of liquid blood when i get my menstrual cycle?
I notice that during my menstrual cycle, I experience thick chunks of blood, similar to blood clots, rather than a more liquid consistency. Is this normal, and what could be the reasons for this?

Yes it is normal to get. That’s the lining of the uterus that built up over the time that you didn’t have your period. Your body does this in anticipation of a baby being implanted in your uterus, if it doesn’t happen then that is why your body sheds it, to start over again for your next cycle. It’s to cushion the baby, if there should happen to be one.
Now if your having really irregular periods more than 21-28 days apart, you may need to speak to your doctor about birth-control to regulate your period. The longer you go without your period the more of this stuff will build up in there, and it hurts when your uterus contracts to shed it as well, do you get allot of cramps? I usually do if I shed a lot of the clumps.

I don’t know but I get them too. I assume it’s normal. My guess is that it is because the blood coming out is not necessarily nice fresh blood like you’d get if you cut your finger but it’s a little older and has probably started clotting.
Its bits of skin.. depending on how old you are [if you are older then younger] its cause your period is getting ready to stop, if you are younger it is just skin and blood clotted together making blood clots its a normal thing but if it really worries you go to your doctor he/she might have something to say about it.
If you are sitting quite a bit the blood will pool and clot. You may want to get a PAP test just to check things out though.
dont worry its just larger pieces of the lining sheding, its normal as long as you dont get several golf ball size clots coming out at one time. If they’re about the size of a dime or up to the size of a quarter it okay just watch.–c
