Are the brains of the most of bible thumping fundie Christians severely damaged?

In considering the cognitive and psychological aspects of individuals who strongly adhere to fundamentalist Christian beliefs, is there evidence to suggest that their brain function or structure may be adversely affected? What research exists on the neurological impacts of extreme religious beliefs, and how might these findings inform our understanding of the relationship between faith and mental health?

Faith is of the heart and spirit and can be backed up by mental theories and outward observations. Down history some of the most intelligent and clever people have been firm believers in God.

Human arrogance blocks the natural aspirations and inclinations of the human spirit.

Children find it easy to believe in miraculous things like the tooth fairy, but this natural belief needs guidance and training. This ability is one reason why Jesus said that we must become child-like. Children have open minds – eager and able to learn, it is adults who become prejudiced and biased -just as this question demonstrates!

No not at all. People who go on yahoo trying to be cruel to religious people however, might have mental issues. (Like anger issues)

For the most part, it’s not BRAINS that are damaged. It’s minds.

And that’s common to all humanity. One of the more pathological forms of the damage is the notion that anyone who happens to disagree with you is somehow brain-damaged.

I guess one of us gave you an answer so reasonable and logical you could only resort to this.

Once a person has been spiritually enlightened, it is unappealing to return to their little box of petty grievances thinking their opinions are making a difference.

Of course they are. Nobody but a severely brain damaged nutter would embrace such utterly stupid nonsense or robotically regurgitate such obviously rancid vomit. Rolls eyes
