Can you make Hamburger Helper without milk?
Can you make Hamburger Helper without milk? My roommate prepared the cheeseburger variety of Hamburger Helper last night using only water, and he claimed it tasted fine. Has anyone else tried this method? I’m curious to know if others have had a similar experience or if milk is essential for the best flavor.

It is perfectly fine. Other substitutions for the milk: chicken stock, sour cream, 1/2 and 1/2. Good luck!

Not all hamburger helper calls for milk, only the beef stroganoff or one of the creamy types. Instead of using milk, just use water. It won't be as creamy. Why not buy a jug of Lactose free milk so you have it on hand when she wants Hamburger Helper

yea- its just like Mac & Cheese and I make that with out milk all the time. You just need to use a litttle more butter and it will be just a creamy.
