Carbon dioxide enters an adiabatic compressor at a pressure of 100 kPa and a temperature of 300 K, with a mass flow rate of 0.5 kg/s. It exits the compressor at a pressure of 600 kPa and a temperature of 450 K. Neglecting any changes in kinetic energy, please determine the following: (a) the volume flow rate of the carbon dioxide at the compressor inlet, and (b) the power input to the compressor.

Answers: (a) 0.283 m³/s, (b) 68.8 kW.
