Cartilage Piercing Throbbing?
I got my cartilage pierced for the first time five days ago. Until now, I have experienced no pain, but this morning, I woke up to find that it was painfully throbbing. The area is not swollen and only slightly red. The throbbing seems to lessen when I spray my ear piercing spray on it. I've been cleaning the piercing once a day with a saline solution made from sea salt and warm water, and I use the ear piercing spray twice a day. Is it possible that my piercing is infected? What can I do to alleviate the pain? Thank you in advance for any advice.

That’s normal. I have had mine done for over 2 years and occasionally i have pain for a few min. no its not infected so you don’t have to worry. put a hot compress on it and it should help. Hope that helps (:
You essentially stabbed a hole through part of your body. Did you expect it to be painless? Cartilage tends to be particularly sensitive, and it’s normal for it to be a little sore in the first couple weeks or so after you get it pierced. Being that it’s not red, swollen, or otherwise looking irritated or infected, I feel inclined to say that you probably just slept on that side at some point during the night. If the pain isn’t gone in a couple weeks, go back to your piercer, but I really don’t think there’s much to worry about. Do not remove the jewelry before going back to the piercer. You can take a couple tylenol if it’s really that painful.
I’d avoid the ear piercing spray, personally. It’s not necessary and you’re just adding extra stuff to an already irritated area. And you should be doing the sea salt soaks twice a day. SOAK, not just cleaning with a q-tip or whatever else. 1/4 teaspoon to 8 ounces of distilled/bottled water (you can do 4 tablespoons to a full gallon of distilled water to make it simple, or buy 16.9 ounce bottles of water and do 1/2 a teaspoon), soak for 10-15 minutes in a clean or disposable cup.
Your ear thinks it’s a wound, and is just trying to heal. Just leave it alone, and whatever you do, DON’T TAKE IT OUT, or it really will probably heal, and close up. I know the throbbing sensation can get annoying, but just try to ignore it.

it somewhat is somewhat available you’re allergic to the stud yet no longer likely. a lot of persons’s physique’s attempt to heal in distinctive approaches and all of it truly relies upon on you. i could say, cling in there and supply it a whilst longer. it could take weeks for a piercing to heal thoroughly. i do no longer propose cleansing it with somewhat desk salt. attempt going to a tattoo save and getting sea salt answer. in case you are able to no longer merely use established peroxide and heat water / antibacterial cleansing soap. whilst your snoozing determine you’re no longer putting all your stress on it if the stud is to tight you need to loosen it up this might additionally come into play. If none of those artwork you will be able to finally end up having to take it out. some people merely are not good healers.
