Cinecrystal is the brand name that Acer uses for its glossy screen display technology. It also indicates that it is a newer LCD display that utilizes LED backlighting. Older glossy displays that employed CCFL backlighting were sold under the CrystalBrite branding.
Glossy displays tend to have better color reproduction and contrast ratios than matte displays, making them ideal for multimedia purposes such as photos and movies.
This display style provides better picture quality in low-light conditions, with rich colors, bright whites, deep blacks, and sharp images. In brightly lit situations, however, the glossy display tends to experience issues with glare and reflection.
