What year did *69 start for the telephone?
Hi members,
I have a question about the introduction of 69 for telephones: In which year did the 69 caller ID service first become available? Could you please provide this information as soon as possible? Thanks in advance!

The Star 69 (*69 "automatic callback") function was made available in Illinois in 1989, but it has only been widely used nationally for almost two years.
The *69 feature stores the number of the last person who called you and provides you with the option to call back the caller automatically. It is a standard feature included in your home phone service, such as that of AT&T.
See a list of the most commonly used * (star) codes for your VoIP telephone on Voip.com and Jdbsound.com.
