shrewd investor. In this excerpt, we are told that Eliza had saved up part of her small wages as a teacher and book-agent in order to purchase land. By the time she was twenty, she had already bought two pieces. This shows that Eliza thought about her future and about the best ways to invest money. It also demonstrates that she is a shrewd investor.

Shrewd investorExplanation:From these lines, Eliza can be described as a shrewd investor. We learn that Eliza was very young when she began to think about the best way to invest her money. We learn that by the time she turned 20, Eliza had begun to buy land with her savings from her small wage as a teacher and book agent. This shows that Eliza is a shrewd investor.

The correct answer would be option c: "A Shrewd Investor"Explanation:In the excerpt, it is described that she and her siblings slowly start buying land, but it does not mention that their father is the cause, the reason they buy land, therefore, option a is incorrect. It does say that she is a teacher and also a book agent, but that is not the sole focus of the excerpt, it is mainly a small detail that allows the reader to know that she has a job that earns her money, so option b is also incorrect. The word Shrewd can be defined as someone that shows or has a very good judgment, in other words they can be defined as astute, so, for Eliza to already have 2 pieces of land from her small wage and starting at a relatively young age, one can infer that she has  very good judgment, so option c is the correct answer. Option d is incorrect because it never says that Eliza is rich or an heiress, quite the contrary, she has to work to earn a small wage.
