Is there a translation for the prayer "Grace Before Meals" in French? Alternatively, do French-speaking people have a different prayer they recite before eating? If you know, could you please share what the prayer is? I’m Catholic, so I’m specifically looking for a Catholic French prayer to say before meals. Thank you!

That kind of prayer is a  &ldquo;B&eacute;n&eacute;dicit&eacute;&rdquo;, and the most common one is:&ldquo;B&eacute;nissez-nous, Seigneur, b&eacute;nissez ce repas, ceux qui l&rsquo;ont pr&eacute;par&eacute;, et procurez du pain &agrave; ceux qui n&rsquo;en ont pas. Ainsi soit-il ! &ldquo;Literally: &ldquo;Bless us, O Lord, and bless this meal, those who prepared it, and provide bread to those who don&rsquo;t have any. Amen.&rdquo;

Another version is : “Bénissez nous, Seigneur, et bénissez le repas que nous allons prendre. Au nom du Père, du Fils, et du Saint Esprit. Amen.”

One of your other respondents used the 2nd person singular form of address, but later the 2nd person plural. But does God care? I am being pedantic. Too few people offer thanks before they eat.
