Controlling the population of herbivores are the predators jobs so they don’t overpopulate and eat up the resources, and the plants give out oxygen. It’s called a cycle, and we humans reap the rewards.

People all around the world still use cattle to plow their land.People all around the world still use animals for transport.Some people test make-up/medicine on animals.Many people do researches on animals giving us more information about the world.They can also bring happiness to your life (domestic animals eg.cats,dogs,hamsters)Farmers,fishermen,vets etc. wouldn’t have any jobs if it weren’t for animals.I can name a load of other reasons how animals are useful/important to the world,but the lists of reasons are too long 😛

So we would have first needed animals for things like food and transport but as society advanced those needs changed. In some places animals such as horses are used to plough fields, we use all sorts of animals for sport like horses and dogs. Entertainment is also another big factor, this can cross over with sport as it is seen as a form of entertainment but media, circuses (although this is slowly dying out) and zoos are also forms of entertainment.
