What causes Ozzy Osbourne to stutter when he speaks but not when he sings? I understand that his stuttering may be related to the debilitating effects of the drugs he has taken in the past. However, I am curious about why he can perform without the need for subtitles when he sings.

Believe it or not- singing and talking require different parts of the brain. The singing part probably wasn&rsquo;t affected as much by the drugs.

This is actually something speech therapists study quite a bit. I’m not one, but my wife’s best friend is one and she will often try to get children with speech impediments to sing something when they are having a difficult time saying it. Apparently, they use different parts of the brain. Now, if that is the case with Ozzy, there’s no telling.
