How do I return a abandoned beer keg?
I recently purchased a piece of property that was left in disarray, and among the trash, I found a large beer keg. I live in Tucson and would like to know the proper process for returning this keg. How can I do this without being accused of stealing it? Additionally, do you have any suggestions on where I might return it?

I know the deposit in Michigan is $30. I would go to a local liquor store and ask them. They’ll probably give you the deposit, since they get it right back from the wholesaler.
We hombrewers do love kegs, though. I wouldn’t recommend eBay, but Craigs List might be okay, simply because you have to prove ownership and can be prosecuted for selling a brewery’s cooperage secondhand (if caught), plus the shipping would be ridiculous!
Ask around at liquor stores, or see if there are homebrewers in your area, that’s your best bet.

I just bought a piece of property that they left trashed.
among the trash was a huge keg I live in Tucson what’s the process on returning this thing without being accused of stealing it? Any Idea’s of where to return it?
Any more, you generally can’t return it without a little slip of paper saying where you got it, and who put down the deposit on the keg originally. If it’s in decent condition, you may consider putting it up on eBay or craigslist. Homebrewers love kegs, and we can always use more.
See if the prevaor of the Keg is on the can and return it there, most stores that sell will accept them but their own usually. Sorry im not more help.
i know they will take bottles back but not cans. not sure about kegs, but you could probably call a store to find out
Honestly, I would call the place listed on the tag (if there is one on the keg) and tell them the circumstances. I’m sure they would be more than glad to get it back. And plus, they might even give you the guy’s deposit once they get it back too.
Buying the property means buying the trash on it doesn’t it? With all honesty and peaceof mind, keep it. Cut it in half, put hinges on one side and make a BBQ grill out of it. It’s probably made of aluminum and won’t rust and will last a long time.

The deposit is probably $12. Sell it at a garage sale, or sell it to a home brewer.
