How many bags of gravel will I need to cover an area of 46’x4’x3″?

Bagged gravel, sand and river rock all come in 1/2 cubic foot bags, weighing about 40 pounds each. 1 cubic yard weighs approx. 1 ton.1 cubic foot is 12*12*12 inches, or 1728 in3. 46*12 = 5524*12 = 48Cubic inches of your plot is 3*48*552 = 79488 cubic inches. This / 1728 is 46 cubic feet. One cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, so you will need 1.7 cubic yards.I recommend getting 1.5 yards of bulk gravel, then the remaining 0.2 yards with bags. 0.2 yards is 5.4 cubic feet, or 11 bags. This is based on the bucket size of 1/2 cubic yards, our bobcat is able to load. Our price for gravel is $55 per yard, and $30 per half yard, and $5 per bag.
