How much do figure skates weigh? (read description)?

I’m a figure skater and i currently have Jackson freestyle boots and corronation ace blades (if thats relevant) .. how much do they weigh roughly?? i’m buying ankle weights tmrw to improve strength in my legs for my spiral but i’m not sure how heavy they should be… should they be the same as the skates?? or just the heaviest.. which i think is 2kg? plz help ðthx

(your skates should be the same weight, unless you have two different sized boots)I weighed one Jackson Freestyle (sz 4.5) boot and it was about 2.6lbs, which is just over 1kg per skate. Your skates might weigh more, so double-check your measurements – you only need to determine the weight of ONE skate, not the pair.You should start with a lower weight setting than that of a single skate. If one skate weighs around 1kg, you should adjust both your ankle weights to 1kg. You can make it a little heavier after a workout or two, to increase resistance, but don’t start with a heavy weight – it’ll strain your groin muscles. You’ll feel that injury when you try to skate.Remember: stop if it hurts.
