How much should a 13 year old get paid?
I have been working for my grandparents doing various tasks, such as staining wood on the fronts of log cabins, painting decks, and working on a 1951 Chevy truck (grinding and sanding). I have been earning $5 an hour for my work. I have worked 25 hours a week and made a total of $300 over the past three weeks. As I am about to leave in a few days, I am wondering if my pay is fair. I know that the minimum wage is $7.25, but I am under 18. Can someone please let me know if my current pay is reasonable? If not, could you suggest a more appropriate rate and explain why? Thank you very much!

Seriously- you are griping about the fact that you think your grandparents under paid you??????? You didn’t pay taxes out of it either. So you take home was more than than minimum wage. I would thank your grandparents profusely.
I think it might be because I worked at a after school matters program and got paid 4.25 an hour (I think) when I was 14(last year). But then again… I was getting payed to learn how to play the Korean drums so yours is harder but I guess you should get paid maby .50 cents or a dollar more.
