I wouldn’t spend that much on a poorly bred Shih Tzu puppy.There are so many genetic defects in the breed that you would be risking by purchasing a puppy from untested parents. Shoot, it could easily cost several hundred if not thousands of dollars in the first year alone if one of these issues appeared.Or, you could end up getting one of the NASTIEST Shih Tzu’s on the face of the earth. I have ended up having to rescue a poorly bred POS Shih Tzu that had the worst attitude around everyone. Terrible temperaments come from bad breeding. Don’t do it. Check on petfinder.com There are thousands of Shih Tzu’s there for adoption through rescues.

$150 sounds great. Most around here are $300-500. As it has no papers you won’t know if it’s pure and at $150 I doubt that it is, but you don’t have papers so you aren’t buying a show dog but a family pet. Like the others said, as long as you’ve checked out the conditions the dogs are kept in, go for it. In today’s economy a lot of breeders are coming down on the price so they don’t get stuck with leftover puppies.I know if I saw someone around here with shih tzus for $150 I’d snap it up.

$150 sounds reasonable. I have a shih tzu that is ckc registered and I gave $450 for her, because she had papers.

Have you looked at a small dog rescue to see if they might be cheaper , shelter, or humane society. In more ways than one, cause most likely from a rescue group they will already come spayed or neutered. Which is worth the cost.

150 is good. but u have to make sure the pups are in good health and not from a puppy mill, hopefully its not a backyard breeder….
