x^2 + 5x = 0
Factorize the left side:
x(x+5) = 0
This is true if either x = 0 or (x+5) = 0
if x = 0 then the value of x = 0 (simple)
if (x + 5) = 0 then x = -5
So the roots/solution of the equation
is x = 0, -5

Take out a factor of x,
x(x+5)=0
Therefore either x = 0 or x = -5
