How to handle fine/thin curly hair?

My hair is a loose curly texture 3a/3b and extremely thin. I had been loosing hair every time I try to detangle and it seems there’s always new knots. My hair also feels so dry and semi greasy even after washing my hair. My hair is long, reaching somewhere half my back and I keep thinking if I should cut it face or shoulder lenght? I really don’t want to but I don’t know what else to do?
