I bought a new lamp and it needs a “Type S” bulb. What’s that? Do they come in energy saver?

A ‘type S’ bulb is a standard incandescent light bulb, but with a slightly smaller glass globe than a typical household light bulb.At this link below, you can see the types of bulbs….on the top row, third from the right, it shows what the ‘Type S’ looks like.http://www.servicelighting.com/catalog_bulb_finder…Now, you should find on the lamp, how many volts, watts, etc it requires. You can use that information to find the correct bulb here – http://www.servicelighting.com/catalog_bulb_finder…Usually, there is a number designation after the letter… like S 6, or S 11. This tells you the actual diameter of the bulb, and will make it easier to find a replacement. Energy saver bulbs like CFL’s use a coil of glass tube… this coil is usually LARGER than a standard incandescent light bulb. The Type S bulb appears to be smaller than the more common Type A, which is used in most light fixtures. I have my doubts then, about finding a CFL to fit your lamp, without knowing how the lamp is made with regards to the shade, etc.Good Luck... Show More
