the horizontal component if Fcos39 = 50 cos39=38.9N

the vertical component is Fsin39=31.47N

notice that 38.9^2+31.47^2=50^2

It is the same as finding the sides to a right triangle!

cos(39) * 50 = horizontal

sin(39) * 50 = vertical

Pulling out the scientific calculator and…

38.85729807284854399899688718362 N horizontal

31.466019552491872635295122913999 N vertical
