This girl I work with and like a lot, has called me "buddy" a couple times. Once in a text, another time in person. She flirts with me a lot and smiles when she sees me, laughs at my jokes and teases me. But does the fact she calls me buddy mean she only likes me as a friend? Or does it not matter? I should add that she's agreed to come to a baseball game with me in the next week or 2 as well. It's not a "date" though.

You've got to take it in context of her regular vocabulary, really. I seem to call all sorts of people buddy, including the guy I was last into. I try not to, for fear of making him think of us as just friends. Still, I use it so often that sometimes its just a habit and it slips in. I also call my mom "dude" on occasion, although she is anything but! Don't read too much into this alone -- but if she is avoiding affection and physical touch, hard to get a hold of, and not wanting to make plans very often ... Chances are you're just a friend. If she is open to physical affection, likes to hang out often and initiates contact frequently, sounds like there's more there.

That's really weird, usually girls would call guys'a buddy' if their not into them. But since you'resaying that she's flirting and everything makesme think different. This is a tough one. Maybeduring the baseball game you should call herbuddy and see how she responds. If you guysare serious, and you're sure she likes you back100% you should ask her why she calls you'buddy' but if not it would be pretty awkward justto bring it up like that.

I'm in the same situation, this girl im liking keeps calling me buddy. However her first language isn't english ( although she speaks english fluently) . We dont even know each other well but when she keeps saying it. I noticed she calls everybody buddy though, so i never thought much of it. Just start making moves / sweet talking the girl like crazy

I call guys buddy and it means nothing in relation to how I see them. I would totally still consider dating a guy I may have randomly called buddy a few times. As far as I can see, it makes no difference.
