If f(x) = 2x^2 − 10, find f(5).?
Given the function f(x) = 2x² - 10, how can I find the value of f(5)?

if f(x) = 2x^2 – 10
to find f(5) we place the 5 where ever there was an x
f(5) = 2*5^2 – 10
= 2*25 – 10 = 50 – 10 = 40

2(5)^2-10 = 40
First plug in 5 for all Xs, which is only the one in this case.
Then just follow the order of operations.
5^2 = 25
25 * 2 = 50
50-10 = 40
f(x) = 2x^2 â 10
f(5) = 2(5)^2 – 10
f(5) = 2(25)-10
f(5) = 50 – 10
f(5) = 40
