In a buffer system of HF and its salt NaF:?

In a buffer system composed of hydrofluoric acid (HF) and its salt sodium fluoride (NaF), how do these components interact with added acids and bases? Specifically, I would like to understand the following:

  1. Does HF contribute to the neutralization of added acids in this buffer system?
  2. Is HF essential for the buffer's function?
  3. How does HF neutralize added bases?
  4. What role does the fluoride ion (F-) play in neutralizing both added water and bases?

Your insights into these interactions will be greatly appreciated.

the HF neutralizes added base, for example if NaOH was added the HF would react with the OH to make H2Oand F-
