Why Mr. Hyde has a key and authority over the servants.Explanation:The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a story about the metamorphosis of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. While Jekyll is a famous, well-respected doctor, his alter ego, Hyde, is an evil person. Gabriel John Utterson, Jekyll's old friend, is given authority over Jekyll's will. He, however, is interested in finding out more about Mr. Hyde, who is given authority over Jekyll's property in case of a misfortune. Utterson is caught by surprise when he is told by a servant that Hyde almost never speaks with anyone in the household. The suspense is created by the fact that Jekyll has so much trust in someone that no one in the household truly knows or interacts with.

Why Mr. Hyde has a key and authority over the servants.Explanation:Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson's gothic novella "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" tells the strange story of the metamorphosis of Dr. Jekyll and his alter ego Mr. Hyde. Both these personalities are poles apart in their characters, for one is a doctor revered and famous among people while the other is a monster who even murdered others. The character of Mr. Gabriel John Utterson had been given authority over the will of Dr. Jekyll. And he was confused and maybe even perplexed why in every situation, Mr. Hyde was given authority to do with Dr. Jekyll's property in case of any misfortune. In his process of finding out more about Mr. Hyde, the possible inheritor of all of Jekyll's property, he began investigating wherever he can. On one such occasion, he asked the family servant Poole about Hyde who told him that he indeed is important in the household though he hardly interact with anyone. This puzzled/ surprised Mr. Utterson for he thinks that it is weird and strange for Jekyll to entrust so much on someone the others hardly know of. Based on the excerpt, the element of surprise is created over why Mr. Hyde has a key and authority over the servants.

The answer is A. It leaves questions unanswered and therefor suspense. Why does he have a key? Why does he have authority?Choice B is incorrect because Mr. Poole trusting him wouldn't build suspense even if it was true.Choice C is wrong because once again trust in a character would not build suspense.Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

The answer would be A) why Mr. Hyde has a key and authority over the servants. This is because these are the main things that begin to be questioned in this excerpt of the story. Hope this helps! ?
