WHY can’t you go to the vet’s (or animal control, etc)? There are low-cost options. Use the $50 to take an animal-friendly cab to the shelter and they will put him down for you.

There is no “safe at home method” without a firearm. I wouldn’t even attempt to take down a livestock animal like a cow or pig or goat without a gun – too much can go wrong.

He’s suffering…why exactly can’t you take him to the vet? Please explain. Is it money? It’s like, $40. You’ve had him for such a long time, at least have the compassion to put him down painlessly. Trying to put him down yourself could cause him to die in suffering if you don’t get it right….I can’t believe some dog owners.

My vet charges $25. It’s the ONLY way to go. Isn’t the 19 years of loyalty worth something?!?!?!?! Do not allow him to suffer. If you live near me, I will pay my vet to do this for your devotee. No dog should have an ‘at home death sentence’. What if what ever you try doesn’t kill him and he justr suffers more? Quit being so ‘me me me’ and think about poor little Ricki and how you can make this easiest FOR HIM……not you!

Hmmm…do your parents know you are trying to kill their dog? I am assuming, from your other posts….you are 15 or 16 and your parents treat you like 10 because they do not allow M rated video games….If this dog has no quality of life, maybe you should talk with them about getting this dog to the vet fro a geriatric exam, you go, ask vet in front of them about euthanizing him due to lack of quality of life….instead of sneaking around behind thier backs.

You simply don’t. Your dog deserves to be given a dignified death.

I think most vets offer payment plans or you could call your local animal shelter and ask for help, don’t be ashamed of that. Yoyr dog deserves a dignified death so please I urge you to do it right and not at home, that is not fair to him/her.

i am pretty sure you can set up a payment plan if the quality of life is deteriorating.
