Phosphofructokinase is an allosteric enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate, which is an early step in glycolysis. In the presence of oxygen, an increase in the amount of ATP within a cell is expected to inhibit this enzyme, thereby reducing the rates of glycolysis and the citric acid cycle.

Phosphofructokinase is an allosteric enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate, an early step of glycolysis. In the presence of oxygen, an increase in the amount of ATP in a cell would be expected to  inhibit the enzyme and thus increase the rates of glycolysis and the citric acid cycleExplanation:Phosphofructokinase is also a regulatory enzyme of glycolysis. It is inhibited allosterically by elevated levels of ATP, which act as an energy-rich signal indicating an abundance of high-energy compounds.Elevated levels of citrates also inhibits it. While it is allosterically activated by AMP, which signals that the nergy stores are depleted.

I believe in the presence of oxygen, an increase in the amount of ATP in a cell would be expected to inhibit the enzyme and therefore, slow the rates of glycolysis and the citric acid cycle. Phosphofructokinase is and enzyme that phosphorylates fructose 6 phosphate in glycolysis. It is an important control enzyme in the regulation of cellular respiration. It is inhibited by ATP and is an allosteric enzyme.

Phosphofructokinase is an allosteric enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate. This a an early reaction in the glycolysis pathway that is a regulatory step in the pathway. An increase int he amount of ATP in the cell might cause decrease in the amount of phosphofructokinase enzyme by a process called feedback inhibition. Glycolysis process is regulated at various steps in which conversion of fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate is one of the regulatory step. In the presence of oxygen, an increase in the amount of ATP in a cell would be expected to INHIBIT THE PHOSPHOFRUCTOKINASE ENZYME AND SLOWS THE RATE OF GLYCOLYSIS.
